In 2007, West Point was certified as the second “Excel-by-5” city in the state, recognizing its active support of the role parents and others play in children’s formative years. West Point and Clay County offer several outstanding K-12 public, private, and parochial school options.

Higher Education
Mississippi State University, serving 16,000 students, and Mississippi University for Women are within 20-minute drives of West Point. Both are four year accredited universities offering full programs of course work and majors. East Mississippi Community College is a two-year degree institution that offers academic courses as well as trend-setting workforce training degrees.
